Formed in 2019 on Prince Edward Island, Inn Echo brings together musicians from different musical worlds who found common ground through long sessions and shared curiosity. What began as a meeting of tunes quickly became a distinct musical voice rooted in tradition and driven by contemporary energy.

Often described as “trad,” Inn Echo’s sound draws from Irish, Scottish, and wider European traditions while embracing the rhythmic confidence and stylistic openness of today’s players. The history is audible, but so is the momentum. Fiddle-led melodies carry the music like a spoken language—expressive, accented, and narrative—each tune telling its own story without words.

A strong, percussive acoustic guitar underpins the music, giving lift and propulsion as the fiddle weaves lines above it. Along the way, listeners may catch flashes of blues, pop, or dub influences, subtly folded into a clearly Celtic framework. The result is music that feels both grounded and new, inviting movement as much as listening.

The Melbourne Celtic Festival lineup features Karson and Tom; Inn Echo compose much of their own repertoire while honouring influential tune writers within the tradition. Their 2023 release HEMISPHERES marked a new chapter, produced by Jake Charron and Donnie Richard. From iconic Festivals in Canada to Scotland and Australia, Inn Echo have earned a reputation as compelling tune makers and keepers of a living tradition.
