From the west coast of Ireland, Maggie Carty brings a fresh, soulful energy to Irish traditional folk music. Now based in Naarm/Melbourne, she infuses the pulse of Irish rhythm with the warmth of Australian folk, blues, and Americana influences, creating a sound that is both deeply rooted and uniquely reimagined.

In 2025, Maggie released her debut solo album Ebb and Flow, which was awarded Folk Album of the Year at the Australian Folk Music Awards. The album explores heritage, movement, and transformation through her distinctive blend of evocative vocals and driving banjo rhythms.

Following the release, she embarked on her Songlines of the Diaspora national tour, performing solo across every state and territory. Her live performances are intimate yet powerful; weaving story, rhythm, and soul into a sound that honours tradition while boldly shaping new musical ground.
